The Peacock Butterfly
Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I find creating artwork as a spiritual mindfulness, like a form of therapy, it creates a peaceful mindset. I find it a creative healing tool, to express how I feel visually in a form of pictures.
When I paint I can switch off from the outside world, my worries and stress fade away, and I focus on what I am painting in front of me.
I find the flowing strokes of the paint brush relaxing and it calms my soul and mind. I love creating a piece of art, especially when it’s for other people, seeing the joy in peoples faces and their amazement. I like to catch the detail of the animals such as their eyes and personality. I feel whole with nature when I am in my garden.
I chose to paint a British Peacock butterfly, because I love butterflies, and seeing butterflies in the garden always brings a smile and makes me happy. I’ve done lavender flowers in the background as they are my favourite flower.
