Nominations have now closed for the 'COVID Hero of the Year' award. You can continue to nominate our staff through our ongoing colleague recognition scheme, the DEED scheme - view the DEED nomination page.

Nominations for Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s 2021 Team Derbyshire Healthcare HEARTS (Honouring Exceptional and Really Terrific Staff) Awards are now open and members of the public have the chance to recognise staff and volunteers for their quality of care and support.

Patients, service users and carers who feel that they have received an exceptional service over the past year are being encouraged to nominate an individual from the Trust for the ‘COVID Hero of the Year’. The award recognises staff and volunteers who gone above and beyond, by putting people – colleagues, carers and service users at the heart of everything they do, especially during the last year.

This is the first virtual awards ceremony for Derbyshire Healthcare and offers a good opportunity to acknowledge and honour the good work of the Trust’s staff and volunteers in providing mental health services, learning disability services, substance misuse services and eating disorders services across Derbyshire, and children’s services such as school nursing and health visiting in the city of Derby.

Anyone wishing to nominate should go to the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust website – www.derbyshirehealthcareft.nhs.uk – where there is a link to a short nomination form. Alternatively, nominations can be sent by email and should include the name of the person nominated and where they work, and the name and contact details of the person making the nomination, and up to 400 words explaining the reason for the nomination. Send this information to dhcft.awards@nhs.net.

The nominations will then be judged by a panel that includes a local patient representative and the chosen finalists in each category will be invited to a virtual awards ceremony in Spring.
