Audrey House is a mental health enhanced care unit based on the Kingsway Hospital site in Derby.
Audrey House, which has eight single bedrooms for women, offers support for women with enhanced mental health care needs, and provides access to a wider range of healthcare professionals than our acute inpatient services.
This servce was developed in 2025 for Derbyshire and will sit between Adult Acute inpatient services and a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
Due to the smaller number of women who require a PICU bed, it is not viable to develop a female PICU within the county, so the Enhanced Care Unit facility will provide an increased level of support for women.
The unit takes a person-centred approach to therapeutic interventions. All rooms are single and en-suite, improving privacy and dignity.
