This International Nurses' Day (Monday 12 May) is a chance to celebrate the remarkable contributions of nurses across the world. This year’s theme, ‘Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for nurses strengthens economies’, highlights the essential role nurses play not only in healthcare but in the wellbeing of our communities and economies.
As the nursing profession continues to face significant challenges, Nurses' Day is a moment to recognise their commitment and skill.
Arun Chidambaram, Medical Director at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, shares his appreciation on this important awareness day, he said: “On International Nurses Day, we honour the compassion, resilience, and expertise that our nurses bring to every corner of our Trust. Their commitment to patient care is at the centre of our services.
“As we celebrate this year’s theme, ‘Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for nurses strengthens economies,’ we are reminded that investing in our nursing workforce is investing in the health and wellbeing of our communities. Thank you to every nurse at Derbyshire Healthcare for the extraordinary difference you make every day.
“At Derbyshire Healthcare, our nurses bring outstanding care to a wide range of services and settings. No matter where they work, they are a trusted source of care and support for those who need it most.”
Join us in celebrating #NursesDay and showing gratitude for the vital work our nurses do every day.
If one of our nurses has made a difference in your life, please nominate them for a Delivering Excellence Every Day (DEED) award which recognise and celebrate Derbyshire Healthcare staff and volunteers who have gone ‘above and beyond’ in their work, by filling in a DEED nomination form.
