Local people who are part of the Derbyshire Healthcare community are being encouraged to fire up their imagination and creativity and share what makes them happy through an art competition – and at the same time help raise awareness of our services and challenge health stigmas. We want to showcase and celebrate your creativity. Image of a blue pencil and the words 'art competition, for people living in Derby and Derbyshire'

The Trust is asking service users, carers, Trust members, Trust colleagues and other stakeholders and partners to send in images of their artwork and craftwork by 8 August (midnight). The entries will be showcased here on the Trust website and a panel of judges will select the best pieces of art and craft, handing out prizes to the winners.

You can use any medium: paints, pencils, pastels, inks, paper, collage etc. We want people to create artwork, take a good quality photograph and send it electronically to dhcft.membership@nhs.net along with a completed entry form (opens in Microsoft Word). We are keen to showcase your creativity and celebrate your achievements.

How to enter

Simply create your artwork and take a good quality photograph and email it to us with your completed entry form (opens in Microsoft Word).

Along with your entry form, please include a short paragraph (up to 200 words) explaining how art helps with your wellbeing. If you are shortlisted, this will be included with your artwork. If you are under 18 years of age, your Quote from Pablo Picasso that reads, 'art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life'parent or guardian must sign the entry form – this is really important.

The entry must be your original work, and you must be the artist and creator.

By entering the art competition, participants give their consent to Derbyshire Healthcare to use their name and/or entry in any publicity material; the artwork will be attributed to you unless you ask to remain anonymous.
