Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to announce that its Communications and Engagement team has been shortlisted three times in the national NHS Communicate Awards.

The team has reached the shortlisting stage for the ‘Communications Team Health and Wellbeing Award’, recognising the contribution that the team has made to the successful implementation and delivery of health and wellbeing initiatives and programmes for colleagues in the organisation.

The Trust has also been shortlisted for the ‘NHS Board Commitment to Communications Award’ category for its work with the Trust’s Board of Directors and for demonstrating and celebrating the strategic value of communications and engagement.

Finally, the Trust’s Deputy Director of Communications and Engagement, Anna Shaw, is also in the running for the ‘Outstanding Contribution to NHS Communications Award’, which celebrates those who have dedicated a significant part of their career to championing and furthering the development of NHS communicators. Anna has led the Trust’s Communications and Engagement team for nearly nine years and has worked in NHS communications for over 18 years.

The NHS Communicate Awards are organised by NHS Confederation and NHS Providers and are designed to showcase the achievements of communicators across the NHS and celebrate innovation in the sector.

Ifti Majid, Chief Executive at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said: “What an achievement! Our Communications and Engagement team never fail to impress and are very worthy finalists in each of these three categories.

“We regularly hear how useful people find our communications as a way of keeping informed and connected and this recognition is testament to the outstanding work of the team.

“On behalf of everyone at the Trust, I would like to thank the Communications and Engagement team for their ongoing support and wish them every success in the awards next week.”

The winners will be announced during a virtual ceremony on Thursday 15 September provided by the NHS Confederation, open to NHS staff only.
