Chioma brings with her 25 years of experience in digital transformation, audit, governance, risk and compliance, having worked across multiple industries as a Fellow of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

Chioma is currently the Managing Director and Global Head of Audit Systems, Data, Analytics and Innovation at HSBC, where she leads the digital strategy and transformation.  In her role at Derbyshire Healthcare, Chioma will chair the Trust’s Audit and Risk Committee.

Her extensive experience in digital transformation, audit and governance, combined with her passion for inclusive leadership, will be a great asset to the Trust. Chioma’s appointment was confirmed by the Trust’s Council of Governors, following a recruitment process. She starts in post as a member of the Board of Directors today (Monday 1 December 2025), for a three-year term of office.

Chioma says: “I’m honoured to be joining Derbyshire Healthcare as a Non-Executive Director. I look forward to contributing to the Trust’s commitment to excellence in governance and innovation, and to supporting its vital work across the community. I’m excited to work alongside the Board and wider teams to help drive meaningful transformation.”

Chioma takes her place on the Trust’s Board of Directors as Geoff Lewins, Non-Executive Director leaves after eight-years in post, which came to an end at the end of November.

The Trust extends its sincere thanks to Geoff Lewins for his significant contribution to the Board over recent years. Geoff has provided invaluable leadership as the lead Non-Executive Director for Freedom to Speak Up, supporting colleagues to raise any concerns that the Trust can learn and improve from.  Geoff was also Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee, championing robust governance and assurance across the Trust.
