Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to confirm the appointment of Jo Hanley as a new Non-Executive Director (NED).
Jo brings with her a wealth of experience in senior operational and financial management roles along with transformational change, having spent two decades at Lloyds Banking Group. She also serves as a Non-Executive Director at Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, where she chairs the Audit and Risk Committee.
In her new role at Derbyshire Healthcare, Jo will chair the Trust’s Finance and Performance Committee, taking over from Tony Edwards, whose term of office came to an end last month.
Lynn Andrews, an existing Non-Executive Director, has been appointed as the Trust’s new Deputy Chair, also effective from 4 August.
Jo is based in Birmingham and is Co-Chair of the Midlands branch of Women in Banking and Finance, where she leads the regional strategy to support the Social Enterprise’s equality, diversity and inclusion mission.
Selina Ullah, Trust Chair, said: “I am looking forward to Jo forming part of the Trust’s Board of Directors. Jo has some fantastic experience behind her with a wealth of knowledge across a range of sectors. She will offer a unique perspective to the Board, particularly focusing on reducing inequalities in the workplace, which aligns well with the Trust’s Strategy for 2024-2028.”
Jo’s appointment was confirmed by the Trust’s Council of Governors, following a recruitment process that took place in the Spring. She starts in post as a member of the Board of Directors today (Monday 4 August 2025), for a three-year term of office.
Jo says: “I am delighted to be joining Derbyshire Healthcare at such a pivotal time. I look forward to supporting the Trust in its transformation journey to continually improve services and patient care, and to championing its diversity and inclusion ambitions.”
The Trust extends its sincere thanks to Tony Edwards for his significant contribution to the Board over recent years, including being the lead NED for the Trust’s Making Room for Dignity programme, and supporting the development of a new strategic partnership between Derbyshire Healthcare and the University of Derby.
