Colleagues from the Osmaston and Allenton Health Visiting team were delighted to attend a Christmas party at Treetops Activity Centre in Alfreton to collect Christmas presents donated by team members at DHU Health Care.

The presents will go to vulnerable children and low-income families who struggle over the festive season, to help them brighten up their Christmas.

The party was organised by former Trust colleague Dawn Davis, now a Nurse Adviser with DHU HealthCare. Santa and Mrs Claus visited and children and adults enjoyed a buffet with mince pies, hot drinks and Christmas cake.

More than 200 presents were handed over to Trust Health Visitor Nicky Dethick and Community Nursery Nurse Sharon Insull. They are pictured with Dawn and her son Ned, plus Mr and Mrs Claus, at the party.

Dawn Davis said: “The party was a huge success and the children all had a wonderful time playing together and meeting Santa and Mrs Claus. Staff from Chesterfield and Derby also had the opportunity to mingle and be merry.

“My former colleagues wanted to thank all DHU staff for their generosity which will make such a difference to so many children this Christmas.”

This is the second year that this event has taken place. Trust Health Visitors said that a wide range of presents had been donated for a range of ages, so all families that are in need could be presented with something suitable on Christmas Day.
