“I am eight weeks in on my Occupational Therapy Apprenticeship with the CERT team and I just wanted to give the entire team a huge shoutout and express my gratitude. I have been able to work alongside some of the most knowledgeable and caring people who truly put their service users at the front and centre of what they do. It has really been the best eight weeks any student could ask for, and I am so excited for my future within the team.”

“Claire is a constant referrer to (IPS) Individual Placement and Support service which has resulted in several of her patients finding employment. Last month two of her patients found full time employment after working with Alex Unwin, ISP Employment Specialist. We would like to sincerely thank Claire for her continued referrals into IPS. These referrals make a significant difference to patients by opening up opportunities for meaningful employment, which is closely linked to improved wellbeing, confidence, and recovery outcomes. The collaborative approach between CMHT and IPS strengthens support for individuals, ensuring a more holistic, person-centred pathway that integrates clinical and vocational goals.”

“These three young people recently started in the Trust and support young people attending groups. They also run a group on a Monday evening that our young people can attend and socialise with other young service users, doing things like arts and crafts, quizzes, Lego and watching films. They have settled so well and already support young people who struggle to attend these groups by meeting them beforehand and reassuring them, enabling them to attend, and meeting up on the day and walking to the room together. They are also trying to make bases more inviting.”

“Paul noticed a lady walking by the car park adjacent to Kedleston Unit and behind Cherry Tree Close, he observed that she appeared to be a patient and potentially in distress. Paul informed ward staff and helped to support the service user back to her original inpatient ward. Paul showed compassion and stayed to ensure she was safe, supporting her emotionally as well as guiding her with encouragement back to her ward. He showed how putting people first was at the centre of his work.”

“The IST demonstrated outstanding compassion, professionalism, and teamwork in supporting a vulnerable patient during extreme heat. The patient initially struggled to recognise the health risks. Through skilled communication, empathy, and persistence, the team enabled him to accept safer accommodation. They coordinated complex logistics, rapidly sourcing a hotel placement, arranging transport, and ensuring access to food, hydration, and personal care. The team worked collaboratively with Adult Social Care colleagues to secure and sustain support. Staff went above and beyond to ensure his safety, dignity, and wellbeing throughout at all times.”
