The Maternal Mental Health Service (MMHS) provides psychological support for women and birthing people who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties because of loss or trauma during their maternity experience. Specialist midwives are based in Chesterfield and Derby and work alongside psychologists to provide a range of  services including person-centred trauma informed birth plans, group interventions and individual therapy (Compassion-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

The service covers Derbyshire and has two bases.
