Considerations when making a referral

• Consent to admission
• Consent to admit infant from those with parental responsibility
• Is admission to MBU in the infant best interests
• Arrangements for care of any other children/dependents
• Details of risk to self and others including risk to infant or foetus
• Current support and perinatal input
• Difficulties with bonding and attachment relationships
• Safeguarding concerns
   

To make a referral, please telephone the Mother and Baby Unit on 01332 623828 prior to completing the universal referral form.
