On admission, the multi-disciplinary team will assess the women or birthing persons needs to inform a plan of care which will be frequently reviewed throughout the admission.
A range of interventions can be provided on the mother and baby unit, which include but are not limited to:-
- Psychological assessment and where appropriate psychological therapy (individual and group) including CFT, CBT, and EMDR. pharmacological interventions.
- Parent Infant interventions including VIG, Solihull approach, infant massage and yoga interventions which support with infant development, bonding and attachment.
- Targeted peer support using perinatal lived experience to instil hope and promote recovery.
- Occupational therapy ongoing assessment and intervention.
- Art psychotherapy.
- Targeted psychosocial interventions delivered by specialist social worker.
