How to Refer to the Team

Referrals will be accepted periconceptually, antenatally and postnatally. 

Emergency referrals, potentially for admission, should be discussed with the Consultant Psychiatrist or the Mother and Baby Unit. 

The aim is to see urgent referrals within 7 days and routine referrals within 4 weeks from referral. Where there is high clinical demand these times can vary and a waiting list may be in operation. 

The service is currently piloting self-referrals into the service with the aim of increasing access for those not currently accessing support during the perinatal period. It is advised that where ever possible  professionals complete referrals into the service as this ensures that the team have all relevant information prior to assessment.
