What to expect from a referral
The referral will be discussed with the Consultant and a decision will be made as to whether an admission is necessary
You will be admitted to the ward where an assessment will be carried out to assess your needs by a registered nurse and a nursery nurse will assess the needs of your baby.
Your care plan will be agreed between yourself and your perinatal consultant.
The way forward
This will include treatment options, regular reviews and transition towards successful discharge from the service.
