Smoking
Derbyshire Healthcare is a smoke-free trust. Patients and visitors will not be allowed to smoke anywhere on our sites – including wards, grounds and vehicles.
E-burns are an alternative which can be used within the grounds. Please speak to staff if you would like to find out more about these.
If you would like support to stop smoking, please speak to your named nurse.
Drugs and alcohol
The Trust operates a “no alcohol/drugs policy” throughout the unit. You are not permitted to bring any illicit drugs or alcohol on to hospital premises at any time or consume any whilst on day leave.
Driving, whilst an in-patient
The Trust requests that in-patients do not drive or keep their car on the hospital grounds. Driving whilst suffering illness or taking medication is known to increase the risk of accidents and you may not be insured.
