Derbyshire Perinatal Community Mental Health

One in five women experiences mental health problems during pregnancy or in the first year after birth.

We provide important mental health assessment and support for local women and birthing people experiencing mental health issues during this time.
 
Derbyshire Perinatal Community Mental Health is a specialist service which provides treatment and care in order to support women* who are experiencing moderate to severe and complex mental health difficulties associated with pregnancy and the postnatal period. 

You can access our service if you live in Derbyshire, are more than 12 weeks pregnant or have given birth within the last two years, are registered with a Derbyshire GP - and are experiencing changes in your mood or increased feelings of anxiety.

The service has two bases which covers the north and south of Derbyshire and accept referrals from 12 weeks of pregnancy up until 24 months post partum. For those referred after the 18 month period, the service may only be able to offer an assessment and signposting to other relevant services.
