Privacy and Dignity

It is of great importance that all adults consider the privacy and dignity of all children, but particularly those who have special needs, whether these are learning difficulties or physical difficulties. We should all evaluate how we speak to children, how we provide feedback to them about their work, and how we encourage them to progress without affecting their self esteem, and how we approach issues of providing physical and personal care.

This advice sheet provides further information about how to ensure we maintain privacy and dignity for the children and young people that we work with.
