The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has published its report on Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust today (28 September), following the Trust’s comprehensive inspection earlier this year.
The report highlights a number of significant improvements that have taken place across the Trust and the majority of its services between 2016 and 2018. Overall the Trust’s results have improved, with eight domain areas moving from 'requires improvement' to 'good'. The Trust’s overall rating remains as 'requires improvement'.
Chief Executive, Ifti Majid, welcomes the CQC’s report today. He says:
“Whilst our overall rating remains the same, I am pleased that today’s CQC report reflects a number of improvements across our services. This gives confirmation that the series of actions we put in place in 2016 were in line with the CQC’s expectations – we are certainly progressing and in the right direction.
“Two of our services have received improved ratings (from 'requires improvement' to 'good'), which recognises our work across forensic inpatient services and our wards for older people with mental health problems. This is testament to the commitment and dedication of our teams and I am delighted this has been recognised by the CQC.
“There are areas we need to continue to focus on and I am committed to quicken our pace and push ahead with the improvements we know are needed and want to make. I look forward to working with colleagues, partners and those who receive our care to continue our journey of improvement.”
